CMASTE: Callysto Computational Thinking Assessments Seminar
March 18 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Cathy Adams and Maria Cutumisu
Education Centre North, 2-111 (RISE)
The success of Canadian youth in the global, digital economy hinges on the provision of opportunities for digital skill development. The Callysto project, an initiative of the Government of Canada Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada
CanCode program, aims to support opportunities for Canadian K-12 students to learn digital literacy skills including coding, data analytics, and digital content development. It also aims to support K-12 teachers to introduce digital skills and coding into the
classroom. We will present some of the lessons we have learned during the first iteration of our Callysto grant, together with the Callysto Computational Thinking Test (CCTt) that we have devised
to assess the development of students’ and teachers’ digital literacy skills and attitudes. We plan to validate this assessment with a sample of Grade 5-9 students in the near future.
All Welcome – no RSVP required, snacks provided
